The artwork of Gwendolyn Brooks students, Gianna Gooden, Erra Sanderson-Haque, and Ellison Xu, was selected to compete in the PTA Reflections program at the state level.

The National Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Reflections program encourages students to submit their artwork for the chance to be honored for their creativity.  In order to advance to the state level, all artwork had to pass the regional judging round.  Gianna’s poem, “Fly Away Imagination,” won first place in the literature category intermediate division.  Ellison’s “A Brand New Day” received fourth place in the visual arts category intermediate division.  Erra’s “The Dragon Comes Back” received first place in the visual arts category primary division.

State judging will take place on April 30th, 2016 at Millikin University.

Congratulations DeKalb Students!!!
